John B. Steever, MD was honored at the Treatment Action Group’s (TAG) Research in Action Awards on November 14, 2019 for his dedication to HIV prevention and treatment in young LGBTQ people.

As director of special programs at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, Dr. Steever oversees Project IMPACT (Improving Access to Care and Treatment), our program to provide both comprehensive treatment, support and care for young people living with HIV; and HIV prevention services such as testing, PrEP and PEP to young people at risk for HIV. All services are confidential and free. We are thrilled to see Dr. Steever recognized for his commitment to providing high-quality care to vulnerable young people, regardless of their ability to pay.

TAG is an independent, activist and community-based research and policy think tank fighting for better treatment, prevention, a vaccine, and a cure for HIV, tuberculosis, and hepatitis C virus.
