Safe Haven Network, a faith-based alliance working to eliminate human trafficking and domestic violence, has chosen Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center for its 2017 service provider award.  The organization cited the Center’s confidential, quality health care and support services offered to underserved and at-risk youth, regardless of their ability to pay, and applauded Dr. Angela Diaz and her team for the great work they do.  Safe Haven will provide financial support and other resources throughout the year, and has donated winter coats for young mothers and children in the Center’s Teen Parent program.

Safe Haven Network is a collection of houses of worship and faith-based organizations from all denominations welcoming victims and survivors of trafficking and domestic violence.  The Safe Haven Network’s projects include: Not On My Watch!, a movement to stand in solidarity with the thousands of individuals, mostly women and children, forced into sex slavery or murdered in domestic violence relationships; #CampaignBeautiful to encourage people from all cultures and walks of life that they are beautiful; and network trainings in congregations in New York City and Westchester County, New York, to understand the movement and its responsibilities from both a faith-based and secular perspective.
